Aeruginosa (pa) y sus papel en la patog\u00e9nesis de la bacteria. Se determin\u00f3 que aislamientos procedentes de infecciones respiratorias cr\u00f3nicas producen m\u00e1s chop a 37\u00c2\u00bac comparado con aislamientos procedentes de infecciones agudas. Se demostr\u00f3 que chop se expresa en la superficie de la bacteria asociado al factor de elongaci\u00f3n ef-tu. Se determin\u00f3 que el gen chop esta involucrado en la s\u00edntesis de chop, el cual participa en la adhesi\u00f3n e invasi\u00f3n de la bacteria a c\u00e9lulas epiteliales del pulm\u00f3n in vitro a trav\u00e9s de su uni\u00f3n al receptor del factor activador de plaquetas (paf-r) presente en la superficie de esas c\u00e9lulas. A la vez, se demostr\u00f3 que un inhibidor del paf-r disminuye la carga bacteriana en pulmones de ratones infectados por cepas de pa productoras de chop.  en una segunda parte se estudi\u00f3 la funci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna surfactante a (sp-a) en la interacci\u00f3n de cepas mucoides y no-mucoides de pa con el epitelio pulmonar. Se demostr\u00f3 que el alginato protege pa contra los efectos bactericidas de sp-a reduciendo la uni\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna a la bacteria. Adem\u00e1s, se determin\u00f3 que la interacci\u00f3n de sp-a con c\u00e9lulas epiteliales, pero no con pa, inhibe la entrada de la bacteria en las c\u00e9lulas.
