En el presente estudio han sido identificadas y cuantificadas las poblaciones anormales de eritrocitos \u00abmicro, macro, hipo e hiper) y el indice de discriminacion. \u00abHipo\/normo) en 318, pacientes 72 con anemia ferropenica, 95 con alfa-talasemia heterocigota, 36 con alfa-talasemia homocigota, 87 con beta talasemia heterocigota, 28 con delta-beta talasemia. Tambien se estudiaron 55 controles normales.  los hallazgos mas importantes fueron los siguientes: en alf-homo tal aumento de micro\/normo (13,1%) y de hipo\/normo (9,3%).
