A tal efecto se estructura en cuatro cap\u00edtulos. Uno inicial de introducci\u00f3n y contextualizaci\u00f3n y el final de verificaci\u00f3n de las hip\u00f3tesis, conclusiones e implicaciones. El segundo cap\u00edtulo estudia los atributos m\u00e1s relevantes en la elecci\u00f3n del alojamiento y el destino rural se\u00f1alados por los turistas y los contrasta con el nivel de desempe\u00f1o alcanzado en la palma (canarias) para lo cual se han dise\u00f1ado dos cuestionarios. La t\u00e9cnica importance-performance analysis se ha utilizado para representar y valorar los resultados, comparando el m\u00e9todo cl\u00e1sico (martilla y james, 1977) con el basado en la diagonal (sethna, 1982). En ambos casos se efect\u00faan recomendaciones para la pol\u00edtica tur\u00edstica y la gesti\u00f3n del marketing. En el cap\u00edtulo tercero, se realiza una segmentaci\u00f3n del mercado del turismo rural en la palma en base a las actividades realizadas en destino por medio de un an\u00e1lisis factor-cluster, para lo que se dise\u00f1\u00f3 con un cuestionario espec\u00edfico. Se obtienen doce segmentos, priorizados seg\u00fan diversos criterios de atractivo, competitividad y actitud ambiental. Los resultados obtenidos son discutidos desde la perspectiva de la mejora del posicionamiento competitivo del destino, la planificaci\u00f3n tur\u00edstica y la gesti\u00f3n del
