Para obtener un polvo de acetato de celulosa dispersable en agua se estudiaron los metodos de emulsificacion-evaporacion de disolventes y el metodo de salificacion, determinandose que el primero de ellos es el mas adecuado para este fin, debido a las caracteristicas de resistencia mecanica de las peliculas obtenidas al recubrir comprimidos osmoticos placebo. A continuacion se desarrollo una metodolog\u00eda para la formulacion del nucleo de los comprimidos osmoticos bicompartimentales de metronidazol, los cuales se recubrieron en primer lugar con una solucion organica de acetato de celulosa cuya composicion se definio de acuerdo con el perfil de liberacion propuesto, efectuandose una serie de ensayos de disolucon.  asimismo, los comprimidos osmoticos de metronidazol se recubrieron con una supension acuosa de acetato de celulosa obtenido por emulsificacion-evaporacion de disolventes y se realizo un estudio comparativo de las caracteristicas de liberacion de ambos tipos de comprimidos para determinar si se puede o no sustituir el recubrimiento organico por el recubrimiento acuoso con el acetato de celulosa modificado mediante la tecnica descrita en esta tesis doctoral.
