Se estudia tambi\u00e9n las rutas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n implicadas: activaci\u00f3n de mapks y de los factores de transcripci\u00f3n nf-\u00c2\u00bfb y stat3.  se llevan a cabo dos estudios; uno in vivo, utilizando dos modelos experimentales de pa de distinto severidad: media (obstrucci\u00f3n biliopancre\u00e1tica (obp)  y severa (perfusi\u00f3n retr\u00f3grada de taurocolato s\u00f3dico), y un estudio in vitro, c\u00e9lulas acinares aisladas estimuladas con fluido asc\u00edtico. nac (50 mg\/kg) se administr\u00f3 intraperitonealmente, 1 h antes y 1 h despu\u00e9s de inducir la pa. La dx (1 mg\/kg),  se administr\u00f3 intramuscularmente 30 minutos antes de inducir la pa \u00f3  1 h despu\u00e9s.  mediante la activaci\u00f3n de p38-mapk, nf-\u00c2\u00bfb y stat3, mecanismos oxidativos desencadenan, la expresi\u00f3n de quimiocinas en c\u00e9lulas acinares, pero no en c\u00e9lulas extra-acinares de p\u00e1ncreas. Existe una expresi\u00f3n diferencial de mol\u00e9culas de adhesi\u00f3n en el p\u00e1ncreas: ausencia de p-selectina y sobreexpresi\u00f3n de icam-1. Mecanismos independientes del estado redox regulan en la rata la expresi\u00f3n de icam-1 en p\u00e1ncreas, leucocitos circulantes y pulm\u00f3n. Por una ruta independiente de la mapks, la dx reprime la expresi\u00f3n de quimiocinas y mol\u00e9culas de adhesi\u00f3n en la c\u00e9lula acinar, reduciendo la activaci\u00f3n de los factores de transcripci\u00f3n nf-\u00c2\u00bfb y stat3. Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n aten\u00faa el da\u00f1o pancre\u00e1tico y hep\u00e1tico, pero no limita la extensi\u00f3n del da\u00f1o inflamatorio a pulm\u00f3n. Icam-1 no juega un papel importante en el proceso de infiltraci\u00f3n de leucocitos en tejido pancre\u00e1tico y pulmonar. La expresi\u00f3n de p-selectina en pulm\u00f3n es m\u00e1s resistente a la acci\u00f3n de dx.
