Se remonta a la proyeccion de sombras en oriente, hipoteticamente mencionadas por platon, cuatro siglos antes de cristo. La intervencion de la optica en el proceso creativo de imagen luminosa empieza en siglo ix antes de j.C. Con la proyeccion mediante espejos; en el siglo xiv se utilizan lentes convexas para ampliar las imagenes proyectadas en el interior de la camara obscura, lo cual abre una variedad de posibilidades cientificas y de espectaculo a partir de la captacion de la imagen por procesos luminosos. La optica empiza a experimentar una evolucion que tiene concrecion en la linterna magica, los anamorfoses, las cajas de optica, las camaras de fotografiar, los proyectores de cine y los televisores,
