El destierro del papa en gaeta y la p\u00e9rdida de los estados pontificios marcaron su impronta. El tema central a tratar en el  concilio hab\u00eda de ser la iglesia y la revelaci\u00f3n. Como tel\u00f3n de fondo, estaba la custi\u00f3n de la infalibilidad pontificia, que no fue acogida con simpat\u00eda.  la interrupci\u00f3n inesperada del conc\u00edlio llev\u00f3 consigo que s\u00f3lo se tratara el tema de la iglesia en su aspecto jer\u00e1rquico, como sociedad perfecta.  no obstante, en las tres \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas del siglo xix y en la primera mitad del siglo xx, la vida de la iglesia y de los estudios eclesiol\u00f3gicos experimentaron un progreso notable.  en nuestro estudio queremos subrayar las principales l\u00edneas de progreso: movimiento ecum\u00e9nico, resurgimiento lit\u00fargico, despertar b\u00edblico y progreso del laicado. En todo ello encontramos un avance que culmina en el magisterio de p\u00edo xii, a partir de 1939, y desde \u00e9l pasa al concilio vaticano ii, iniciado en 1962. Esta referencia a p\u00edo xii quiere ser la aportaci\u00f3n personal de nuestro estudio, tratando de mostrar que el magisterio de p\u00edo xii viene a ser como la antesala del concilio vaticano ii.  las dos fechas citadas, 1870 y 1962, son los referentes de nuestro trabajo. S\u00f3lo por excepci\u00f3n nos adelantaremos puntualmente a 1870 o haremos alguna alusi\u00f3n al concilio vaticano ii. en ese mismo periodo nos encontramos con algunos te\u00f3logos relevantes, que son condenados, reducidos a silencio, y m\u00e1s tarde rehabilitados. Nos fijaremos en algunos de ellos de mayor renombre. Citamos a rosmini en el siglo xix, y ya en el siglo xx a dos dominicos: mj lagrange y congar, y a dos jesu\u00edtas: teilhard de chardin y de lubac.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
