Los escenarios mostrados en las aplicaciones interactivas tienden a presentar mundos y personajes detallados, intentando ser lo m\u00e1s realistas posibles. Los modelos tridimensionales detallados usados en este tipo de aplicaciones requieren mucha complejidad geom\u00e9trica. Sin embargo, no siempre el hardware disponible es capaz de soportar y manejar toda esta geometr\u00eda manteniendo una visualizaci\u00f3n suave para los usuarios. Los m\u00e9todos de simplificaci\u00f3n intentan solucionar este problema, generando versiones simplificadas de los modelos, los cuales presentan menos geometr\u00eda que los originales. Esta simplificaci\u00f3n se ha de llevar a cabo con un criterio razonable, con el fin de mantener lo m\u00e1ximo posible la apariencia de los modelos originales. Sin embargo, no \u00fanicamente la geometr\u00eda es importante en los modelos tridimensionales, ya que \u00e9stos normalmente est\u00e1n tambi\u00e9n compuestos de atributos adicionales, los cuales son muy importantes para el aspecto final de los modelos. Existe mucho trabajo previo de simplificaci\u00f3n, sin embargo a\u00fan existen numerosos puntos sin una soluci\u00f3n eficiente. Por lo tanto, esta tesis se centra en t\u00e9cnicas de simplificaci\u00f3n para modelos tridimensionales normalmente usados en aplicaciones interactivas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
