En el golfo de bizkaia, mediante el an\u00e1lisis microestructural de otolitos de larvas y juveniles. Para obtener estimaciones precisas de las edades, previamente, se ha validado la deposici\u00f3n diaria de incrementos en los otolitos de larvas cultivadas en condiciones controladas de laboratorio. las distribuciones de las fechas de nacimiento de los juveniles capturados en oto\u00f1o muestran que el \u00e9xito del reclutamiento de la anchoa est\u00e1 determinado por la supervivencia larvaria durante el pico de puesta (mayo-junio).Adem\u00e1s, dependiendo de la \u00e9poca de nacimiento, y debido a las variaciones en las condiciones ambientales durante el extenso periodo de puesta (de marzo a agosto), los juveniles presentan diferentes patrones de crecimiento, lo cual determina su talla al final del periodo de crecimiento. Por otro lado, la mortalidad invernal, dependiente de la talla alcanzada en oto\u00f1o, aparece como un segundo proceso que regula el reclutamiento. el an\u00e1lisis microestructural unido al an\u00e1lisis qu\u00edmico de los otolitos, han permitido identificar dos grupos de anchoas con diferentes patrones de crecimiento y movimiento. Por un lado, existe un grupo formado por individuos, que durante su fase larvaria, son transportados desde las zonas costeras de puesta (principalmente la desembocadura del r\u00edo garona) hacia aguas oce\u00e1nicas, y, posteriormente, retornan como juveniles. Al contrario, el otro grupo se compone de individuos que permanecen retenidos en las \u00e1reas de puesta. Aquellos individuos que derivan fuera de la plataforma presentan mayores tasas de crecimiento, lo cual contradice anteriores estudios que relacionan el trasporte fuera de la plataforma con mayor tasa
