P. Syringae es responsable de la inducci\u00f3n, en plantas resistentes, de una respuesta localizada de muerte celular programada, que determina el fallo de la infecci\u00f3n (hr), asi como de la patog\u00e9nesis en plantas susceptibles. En estos procesos participan diversos factores de virulencia entre los que se incluye el sistema de secreci\u00f3n tipo iii (t3ss), consistente en un complejo proteico transmembrana encargado de translocar peque\u00f1as prote\u00ednas, llamadas efecto res, al interior de la c\u00e9lula vegetal. Estos efectores modulan diversos procesos celulares en beneficio de la bacteria, como la supresi\u00f3n de mecanismos de defensa. El an\u00e1lisis molecular de la contribuci\u00f3n de cada factor en el proceso de virulencia, as\u00ed como de las relaciones funcionales que existen entre ellos, es esencial para comprender la patog\u00e9nesis de p. Syringae. en esta tesis se analiza el papel de los efectores secretados por el sistema de secreci\u00f3n tipo iii en pseudomonas syringae. Para ello, se ha puesto a punto un m\u00e9todo de an\u00e1lisis de virulencia consistente en el uso de infecciones mixtas para incrementar la sensibilidad y precisi\u00f3n de los mecanismos de virulencia tradicionales. Mediante el uso de este m\u00e9todo de an\u00e1lisis, se ha podido detectar cuantitativamente la contribuci\u00f3n de un gran n\u00famero de efectores a la virulencia bacteriana de pseudomonas syringae. Tambi\u00e9n se ha aplicado este m\u00e9todo para la identificaci\u00f3n de nuevos efectores y, combinado con t\u00e9cnicas de an\u00e1lisis molecular, para la caracterizaci\u00f3n del efecotor hopzia
