Por ello se han delimitado las distintas fases constructivas de las mismas, con el objeto de conocer el proceso de transformaci\u00f3n arquitect\u00f3nico seguido por los accesos al edificio, as\u00ed como para establecer sus valores hist\u00f3ricos y monumentales y su relaci\u00f3n con la evoluci\u00f3n diacr\u00f3nica del edificio. La estrategia de investigaci\u00f3n llevada a cabo se ha basado en el estudio integral de los elementos estructurales conservados, analizando sus caracter\u00edsticas arquitect\u00f3nicas y art\u00edsticas, situando estas puertas en su contexto y valorando su importancia dentro del arte isl\u00e1mico. Las puertas estudiadas son la puerta de los deanes, la puerta de la galer\u00eda occidental, la puerta de las palmas, la puerta de los visires, la puerta de san miguel, la puerta del lienzo oriental de abd al-rahm\u00e1n i y la puerta del lienzo oriental de abd al-rahm\u00e1n ii. Se han estudiado sus caracter\u00edsticas formales y de dise\u00f1o arquitect\u00f3nico, as\u00ed como sus valores art\u00edsticos. Destacando la identificaci\u00f3n de elementos pertenecientes a los siglos viii y ix y estableci\u00e9ndose su importancia para la historia de la mezquita omeya de c\u00f3rdoba. Como novedades m\u00e1s importantes se aporta la adscripci\u00f3n cronol\u00f3gica de las fases constructivas de la puerta de los visires y el estudio diacr\u00f3nico de su decoraci\u00f3n, se plantea la importancia de las reformas del emir hisham i sobre el proyecto de la mezquita original, se resuelve el problema del oratorio femenino, se resuelve el problema del ensanche lateral de la mezquita
