La utilidad de la metodolog\u00eda electroless para la obtenci\u00f3n de este tipo de recubrimientos est\u00e1 demostrada pero su aplicaci\u00f3n tiene dos etapas de dif\u00edcil control: la obtenci\u00f3n de las dispersiones de las part\u00edculas y el propio proceso de codeposici\u00f3n. Bas\u00e1ndose en esto, esta tesis doctoral se estructura en tres grandes bloques principales: (i) caracterizaci\u00f3n de las nanopart\u00edculas de sic y si3n4 y de sus dispersiones, (ii) obtenci\u00f3n de composites por electroless y su caracterizaci\u00f3n y (iii) un an\u00e1lisis comparativo de la dureza, la resistencia al desgaste y la fricci\u00f3n.  se ha realizado la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la estructura y composici\u00f3n superficial de las nanopart\u00edculas y un estudio de su comportamiento en suspensi\u00f3n y del efecto de los diferentes componentes de un ba\u00f1o electroqu\u00edmico sobre estas propiedades, con especial \u00e9nfasis en las determinaciones de distribuci\u00f3n de tama\u00f1o de part\u00edcula y de potencial zeta en electrolitos concentrados, a temperatura relativamente elevada y con la presencia de fluorosurfactantes no estudiados hasta el momento. Se trata tambi\u00e9n el proceso de deposici\u00f3n y la caracterizaci\u00f3n de los dep\u00f3sitos obtenidos. Se estudia la morfolog\u00eda, composici\u00f3n y estructura as\u00ed como las propiedades de resistencia a la corrosi\u00f3n, dureza y resistencia al desgaste de los recubrimientos. Por \u00faltimo, en esta tesis se discute la idoneidad de diferentes m\u00e9todos de ensayo de la dureza y la tribolog\u00eda de los materiales para la evaluaci\u00f3n de recubrimientos composites ya que, aunque existen muchos que proporcionan informaci\u00f3n muy diversa, los m\u00e1s habituales est\u00e1n dimensionados para la evaluaci\u00f3n de materiales
