Con el desarrollo de nuevas t\u00e9cnicas para el tratamiento de esta patolog\u00eda, como la terapia celular, se hace necesario replantear las bases de estas t\u00e9cnicas, teniendo especial importancia la evaluaci\u00f3n de la viabilidad celular. en la presente tesis doctoral, se ha procedido al aislamiento y posterior cultivo de condrocitos articulares humanos, obtenidos a partir de biopsias de rodilla humana. Posteriormente se procedi\u00f3 a la evaluaci\u00f3n de la viabilidad de los cultivos celulares mediante m\u00e9todos basados en el empleo de colorantes vitales, azul trip\u00e1n,  y el estudio del perfil de expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica mediante la t\u00e9cnica de microarray.  finalmente se correlacion\u00f3 la viabilidad y la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica para se\u00f1alar el tercer subcultivo como
