En la primera parte se estudia la figura del caballero en una selecci\u00f3n de textos medievales, atendiendo a su desarrollo vital (hogar, escuela, sociedad y guerra) y examinando el peso de la &quot;ideolog\u00eda aristocr\u00e1tica&quot;. En la segunda parte, el an\u00e1lisis del arquetipo se sit\u00faa en el marco del medievalismo victoriano. Examinamos de qu\u00e9 manera el caballero medieval se convierte en protagonista de obras de ficci\u00f3n de escritas por walter scott, charlotte m. Yonge, g. A. Henty y r. L. Stevenson, entre otros. La tercera parte est\u00e1 dedica a dos novelas de arthur conan doyle, the white company (1891) y sir nigel (1906), situadas a mediados del siglo xiv, durante la guerra de los cien a\u00f1os; est\u00e1n unidas por el personaje principal, nigel loring, para cuyo estudio pormenorizado usamos los ejes de discusi\u00f3n definidos en nuestro recorrido por la edad media y por la era victoriana. El estudio de este caballero es un ejercicio de indagaci\u00f3n en la personalidad de su autor y nos adentra en la cultura masculina donde se ha formado y a la que contribuye con su propia visi\u00f3n
