El objetivo de la presente tesis doctoral es el aislamiento y carac terizaci\u00f3n del ort\u00f3logo del gen transformer-2 en once especies de tefr\u00edtidos pertenecientes al g\u00e9nero anastrepha. La idea es determinar si dicho gen participa en la determinaci\u00f3n sexual de estos tefr\u00edtidos y a qu\u00e9 nivel ejercer\u00eda su funci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como  estudiar su evoluci\u00f3n. Se ha elegido anastrepha obliqua como especie de referencia. El gen transformer-2 de anastrepha obliqua est\u00e1 formado por ocho exones y siete intrones, y se transcribe durante todo el desarrollo y la vida adulta de ambos sexos,  incluyendo los ovarios adultos, lo que indica que este gen tiene expresi\u00f3n materna. El gen tra-2 codifica una prote\u00edna putativa de 249 amino\u00e1cidos, la cual posee las caracter\u00edsticas de las prote\u00ednas de la familia sr: un dominio rrm de uni\u00f3n al arn f laqueado por dos dominios sr ricos en dip\u00e9ptidos arginina-serina. La inyecci\u00f3n del dsarn de tra-2 de anastrepha en huevos de esta especie determina que embriones xx se desarrollen como seudomachos, como consecuencia de la eliminaci\u00f3n de la funci\u00f3n de  transformer-2 end\u00f3gena. La prote\u00edna tra-2 participa en la determinaci\u00f3n sexual de anastrepha a trav\u00e9s de su requerimiento para el procesamiento tipo hembra de los transcritos primarios de los genes transformer y doublesex. El gen transformer-2 parec e no poseer la funci\u00f3n de autorregulaci\u00f3n negativa que presenta el gen transformer-2 de drosophila. Se ha aislado y caracterizado el marco abierto de lectura de otras diez especies pertenecientes al g\u00e9nero anastrepha. La comparaci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas tra-2 de estas especies entre s\u00ed y con las prote\u00ednas tra-2 de otros insectos, ha puesto de manifiesto que el mayor grado de conservaci\u00f3n ocurre en el dominio rrm de uni\u00f3n al arn y en la regi\u00f3n ?Linker? Que une este dominio al dominio rs2 en el extrem o carboxilo terminal, mientras que los dominios rs1 y rs2 muestran mayor variaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
