Esta tesis afronta su estudio de manera global, sobrepasando la identificaci\u00f3n de temas y programas iconogr\u00e1ficos para entender sus relaciones con los promotores y los usuarios de los espacios, espectadores de esta decoraci\u00f3n. la primera parte del trabajo propone un estudio sobre la comunidad de can\u00f3nigos regulares de pamplona, as\u00ed como de los obispo que ocupaban la sede en el momento de la construcci\u00f3n del claustro y sus dependencias. Adem\u00e1s, se tienen en cuenta sus diversas funciones como lugar de vida de los can\u00f3nigos, lugar de enterramiento y marco para la liturgia y diversos rituales. La confrontaci\u00f3n de ambos aspectos permite comprobar que el cabildo era la comunidad interpretativa primaria, ya que no exclusiva, para este \u00e1mbito y su decoraci\u00f3n. las otras tres partes de la tesis abordan el estudio de la escultura, bajo un enfoque principalmente- aunque no \u00fanicamente-iconogr\u00e1fico. El car\u00e1cter regular del cabildo se refleja en varios de los ciclos iconogr\u00e1ficos. As\u00ed, se encuentran ecos de \u00e1mbito monacal en la asimilaci\u00f3n del claustro al para\u00edso que se produce en las claves de b\u00f3veda. El estudio de lso capiteles b\u00edblicos muestra que los problemas contempor\u00e1neos- en este caso, la pol\u00e9mica sobre las humilitas en la universdad de de par\u00eds-interesan al cabildo en la medida en que tocan un aspecto de su memoria social. Otras caracter\u00edsticas de la ornamentaci\u00f3n del claustro se relacionan con corrientes propias de la \u00e9poca, como el inter\u00e9s por la marginalia o la puesta de manifiesto del paralelismo
