Nuestro \u00e1mbito de estudio han estado los anis\u00f3tropos no es posible aplicar los m\u00e9tods convencionales de determinaci\u00f3n de la actividad \u00f3ptica ya que la descripci\u00f3n de la propagaci\u00f3n de la luz polarizadase vuelve muho m\u00e1s compleja ya que el dicroismo y la birefringencia lineales tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n presentes.  una parte importante del trabajo han sido el desarrollo te\u00f3rico necesario para poder obtener los par\u00e1metros de dicroismo circular o birefringencia circular a partir de las medidas de la matriz de mueller de una muestra anis\u00f3tropa arbitraria. Otra parte importante del trabajo ha sido la y construcci\u00f3n de un polar\u00edmetro de matriz de mueller de alta resoluci\u00f3n basado en el uso de dos moduladores fotoel\u00e1sticos y es capaz de trabajar en dos modos de funcionamiento: espectrosc\u00f3pico y con resoluci\u00f3n espacial.  los desarrollos instrumentales te\u00f3rico nos han llevado a poder realizar caracterizar muestras de diversa \u00edndole. En el \u00e1mbito cristalogr\u00e1fico hemos medido espectrosc\u00f3picamente el tensor de girotropia del cuarzo i hemos mostrado la posibilidad de deistinguir dominios quirales en capas delgadas policristalinas. Otro apartado experimental fundamental ha sido la caracterizaci\u00f3n de procesos de inducci\u00f3nde quiralidad supramolecular mediante efectos hidrodin\u00e1micos en soluciones agitadas de
