La m\u00e1s reciente de sus capacidades adquiridas es la resistencia a colistina (polimixina e), antibi\u00f3tico pept\u00eddico considerado la \u00faltima opci\u00f3n terap\u00e9utica en contextos cl\u00ednicos. Esta tesis doctoral emplea la prote\u00f3mica descriptiva y de expresi\u00f3n diferencial cuantitativa para investigar la resistencia adquirida por a. Baumannii a dicho antibi\u00f3tico. Los resultados han supuesto la identificaci\u00f3n de 1.097 prote\u00ednas de acinetobacter mediante el empleo combinado de electroforesis bidimensional convencional (2de), 2de diferencial (dige) y marcaje pept\u00eddico mediante is\u00f3topos isob\u00e1ricos estables (itraq). Los an\u00e1lisis se han realizado en el proteoma expresado por una cepa de referencia sensible a colistina (a. Baumannii atcc 19606), as\u00ed como en una cepa derivada de \u00e9sta en la que se ha inducido, a efectos comparativos, resistencia a colistina in vitro. El fenotipo resistente manifest\u00f3 reducida adaptabilidad biol\u00f3gica, encontr\u00e1ndose las principales diferencias en la estructura de la membrana externa, en la expresi\u00f3n de transportadores activos de membrana, en diversos enzimas metab\u00f3licos (\u00e1cidos grasos, citrato, fenilacetato, piruvato, nitr\u00f3geno) y de respuesta a condiciones de estr\u00e9s, as\u00ed como en la expresi\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas participantes en la formaci\u00f3n de biopel\u00edculas y en el proceso de s\u00edntesis y plegamiento de prote\u00ednas. Adem\u00e1s, el trabajo ha permitido evaluar los puntos fuertes y d\u00e9biles de las t\u00e9cnicas empleadas actualmente en este tipo de an\u00e1lisis
