Inicialmente, se ha demostrado, in vitro y en un modelo de quemaduras en rat\u00f3n, el potencial de las fenotiazinas, y m\u00e1s concretamente del nuevo azul de metileno, para inactivar una bacteria resistente a antibi\u00f3ticos como acinetobacter baumanii. Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n se ha investigado el potencial de los porficenos aril cati\u00f3nicos como agentes fotosensibilizadores para apdt in vitro e in vivo, inactivando exitosamente distintos tipos de bacterias gram positivas y negativas, as\u00ed como hongos.   por otro lado, se ha estudiado las cin\u00e9ticas de formaci\u00f3n y decaimiento de ox\u00edgeno singlete (1o2) en e. Coli mediante un espectrofot\u00f3metro ultrasensible en el infrarrojo cercano con resoluci\u00f3n temporal por debajo del microsegundo. Los resultados nos permiten profundizar en el mecanismo de la apdt, es decir, en la localizaci\u00f3n del fotosensibilizador (ps) en la bacteria y la reactividad del 1o2. Por un lado, el entorno del ps cambia cuando la distribuci\u00f3n de las cargas cati\u00f3nicas var\u00eda. Por otro lado, en funci\u00f3n del lugar de formaci\u00f3n, el 1o2 reacciona con el entorno cercano o es capaz de escapar fuera de las c\u00e9lulas.   en tercer lugar, tambi\u00e9n se ha estudiado, mediante sondas fluorescentes y t\u00e9cnicas con resoluci\u00f3n temporal, la habilidad de una prote\u00edna fluorescente para producir especies reactivas de ox\u00edgeno, actuando pues como agentes fotosensibilizadores gen\u00e9ticamente codificados. As\u00ed, se ha calculado por primera vez el rendimiento cu\u00e1ntico de formaci\u00f3n de 1o2 mostrando un valor similar al del crom\u00f3foro sint\u00e9tico de las gfp.  finalmente, se ha investigado mediante el espectrofot\u00f3metro en el infrarojo cercano el efecto plasmon producido por films de islas de plata sobre 1o2, observando un incremento m\u00e1ximo de la luminiscencia de
