La relevancia del argumento reside en la importancia que las actividades de servicios y que el proceso de globalizaci\u00f3n tienen dentro de las econom\u00edas desarrolladas. El autor utiliza m\u00e9todos de investigaci\u00f3n aplicada para responder a las siguientes preguntas. \u00c2\u00bfc\u00f3mo se produce el proceso de internacionalizaci\u00f3n? \u00c2\u00bfc\u00f3mo funcionan los factores que lo afectan? \u00c2\u00bfc\u00f3mo se presentan las consecuencias de este proceso? La tesis doctoral aplica un amplio rango de instrumentos de investigaci\u00f3n. En primer lugar cabe destacar que todos los an\u00e1lisis llevados a cabo se basan en el estudio de la literatura relevante as\u00ed c\u00f3mo en el an\u00e1lisis exploratorio de datos. Asimismo instrumentos econom\u00e9tricos tales como unos m\u00e9todos avanzados de estimaci\u00f3n de datos de panel y t\u00e9cnicas de estimaci\u00f3n de ecuaciones simult\u00e1neas se aplican a modelos de tipo gravitacional que describen relaciones internacionales. Adem\u00e1s, la estructura de dichas relaciones se estudia a trav\u00e9s de la aplicaci\u00f3n de an\u00e1lisis de redes sociales. Entre las conclusiones m\u00e1s relevantes de la presente tesis doctoral es posible destacar la comprobaci\u00f3n de la alta complejidad del proceso, la puesta en evidencia de los diferentes roles mantenidos por los pa\u00edses involucrados, la importancia de los factores de costes para la competitividad y la descripci\u00f3n de las implicaciones de pol\u00edtica econ\u00f3mica del proceso de integraci\u00f3n de los mercados europeos de servicios. This thesis represents an applied economic analysis of the process of internationalisation of the services sector. The relevance of the argument is shown by the importance of services activities and the influence of the globalisation process within developed economies. The author makes use of applied research methods in order to answer the following questions. How does the process of internationalisation take place? What is the functioning of the factors affecting it? How do the consequences of the process show themselves? A high variety of research instruments are applied. All the analyses performed are based on the study of the contribution of thew relevant literature on the arguments treated as well as on exploratory data analysis. Econometric tools such as panel data regression analysis and simultaneous equations estimations techniques are implemented on gravity-type models of international relations. Furthermore the structure of these relations is also studied through the applications of exploratory social network analysis.
