A continuacion, hemos visto que, a pesar de que el reovirus aviar se adsorbe de forma similar a celulas de ave y a celulas de mamifero, la penetracion del virus es mucho menos efectiva en estas ultimas. Esto parece sugerir que la eficiencia de penetracion de los reovirus en la celula depende de algo mas que del numero de receptores virales que contiene la celula. Tambien hemos podido demostrar que los reovirus, tanto aviares como de mamifero, penetran en la celula por endocitosis, y que la acidificacion de los endosomas por la proton-atpasa vacuolar es necesaria para que se pueda producir la decapsidacion viral. Ademas, nuestros resultados demuestran que la inhibicion de la actividad de esta enzima bloquea la replicacion reoviral y produce una acumulacion de particulas virales en el interior de los endosomas, indicando que la decapsidacion viral es una etapa esencial en el ciclo replicativo de los reovirus. Asimismo, se comprobo que tanto los reoviriones como las particulas subvirales parcialmente decapsidadas in vitro (isvps), alteran la permeabilidad de la membrana celular a tiempos tempranos, ya que son capaces de promover la translocacion de la toxina alfa-sarcina al citoplasma celular. Cuando se bloquea la proton-atpasa vacuolar esta translocacion se ve inhibida si las celulas se infectan con reoviriones, pero no si se infectan con isvps. Estos resultados junto con los obtenidos por microscopia electronica, sugieren que las isvps penetran en la celula atravesando directamente la membrana citoplasmatica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
