Estas aguas se caracterizan por las altas concentraciones en materia nitrogenada (ntk: 350 mg\/l) y organica (dqo: 1650 mg\/l), presentando asimismo un compuesto, el formaldehido (concentracion media: 950 mg\/l), que puede ser toxico para los procesos biologicos. Se presentan los resultados alcanzados mediante un tratamiento con un sistema de lodos activos, siendo la velocidad de eliminacion de dqo de 1,4 kg dqo\/m3d, la velocidad de nitrificacion menor de 0,5 kg n\/m3d y la de desnitrificacion menor de 1 kg n\/m3d.
