En cuanto a esto, durante la evoluci\u00f3n el tubo nervioso y la cavidad cef\u00e1lica se hicieron cerrados. Esto implica la oportunidad de controlar la composici\u00f3n y la homeostasis del csf en el tubo nervioso y en la cavidad cef\u00e1lica. La composici\u00f3n y homeostasis del csf en el cerebro adulto son regulados por los plexos coroideos, que protegen el cerebro contra agentes neurot\u00f3xicos y generan la gran variedad de prote\u00ednas de este fluido. en vertebrados, el desarrollo temprano cerebral ocurre en el extremo anterior del tubo nervioso, que est\u00e1 lleno del csf embrionario (e-csf). En embriones el desarrollo de los plexos coroides se detecta en e7 en el polluelo y en e13 en embriones de rat\u00f3n\/rata, aunque de hecho no comienzan a ser funcionales hasta m\u00e1s tarde en el desarrollo. Esto quiere decir que estos \u00f3rganos no pueden fabricar el e-csf o controlar su homeostasis al inicio de la neurog\u00e9nesis cerebral, un periodo del desarrollo en que se ha demostrado que el e-csf desempe\u00f1a un papel crucial en la supervivencia, proliferaci\u00f3n y diferenciaci\u00f3n de los precursores neurales del neuroectodermo.  en esta tesis doctoral he investigado por primera vez la existencia de una barrera entre la sangre y el csf embrionario, despu\u00e9s del cierre de neuroporo anterior, en una temprana etapa de desarrollo cerebral &#8211; entre d\u00edas embrionarios e3 y e4 en embriones de polluelo (que corresponde a etapas del desarrollo hh20 a hh23), y en la rata el d\u00eda embrionario e12.7. El \u00e1rea para la barrera entre la sangre y el e-csf se restringe a una zona espec\u00edfica, que se localiza en el neuroepitelio mesencef\u00e1lico y prosencef\u00e1lico ventral lateral a la l\u00ednea media ventral, en el tallo cerebral, y a vasos sangu\u00edneos en contacto con este neuroepitelio. la barrera entre la sangre y el e-csf encontrada y analizada en esta tesis incluye transporte selectivo de prote\u00ednas mediante caveolas, y transporte controlado de agua, iones i glucosa mediante transportadores espec\u00edficos (aqp1 y aqp4; kir4.1; y glut-1,
