Generalmente los planos de fabricaci\u00f3n especifican las tolerancias dimensionales y las calidades superficiales, pero, raramente, suelen especificar las tolerancias geom\u00e9tricas, desperdiciando, as\u00ed, una buena pr\u00e1ctica que asegura la idoneidad del dise\u00f1o, abaratando, en muchos casos, su fabricaci\u00f3n. La falta de preparaci\u00f3n por parte de los operarios y de software apropiado ha relegado las tolerancias geom\u00e9tricas a un segundo plano, en el mejor de los casos. Un modo de verificar las tolerancias geom\u00e9tricas es mediante t\u00e9cnicas sin contacto. La partici\u00f3n e identificaci\u00f3n de geometr\u00edas espec\u00edficas (features) en las mallas obtenidas en procesos de escaneado, plantea uno de los mayores inconvenientes de estas t\u00e9cnicas. Son procesos de dif\u00edcil automatizaci\u00f3n muy dependientes de la precisi\u00f3n de la herramienta y pericia del operario que procesa las mallas. En este trabajo de tesis doctoral se plantea un proceso semiautom\u00e1tico para la detecci\u00f3n de features cil\u00edndricas no ideales en nubes de puntos. El objetivo es estudiar la viabilidad del concepto de imagen spin para la identificaci\u00f3n de superficies cil\u00edndricas de revoluci\u00f3n, como parte previa de un proceso de verificaci\u00f3n de tolerancias geom\u00e9tricas. Este proyecto se lleva a cabo en el laboratorio de dise\u00f1o de producto, de la escuela t\u00e9cnica superior de ingenier\u00eda de bilbao universidad del pa\u00eds vasco \/ euskal herriko
