Su capacidad para crecer en elevadas concentraciones de sal la convierte en un prometedor modelo eucariota para estudios de halotolerancia, sin embargo, supone un obst\u00e1culo carencia de herramientas moleculares que permitan su manipulaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica. En este trabajo de tesis, hemos abordado la halotolerancia de d. Hansenii desde el punto de vista de la regulaci\u00f3n de la homeostasis de potasio, estudiando la contribuci\u00f3n a la misma de los dos principales transportadores de potasio de esta levadura dhtrk1 y dhhak1 y la influencia que sobre su funcionamiento ejercen tanto el potasio, como el sodio y el ph extracelular, proponiendo un modelo de regulaci\u00f3n en diferentes condiciones. Por otro lado, se ha estudiado tambi\u00e9n el proteoma de d. Hansenii en respuesta al ayuno de potasio, y por \u00faltimo en este trabajo se ha realizado una contribuci\u00f3n al avance del desarrollo de herramientas gen\u00e9ticas al aislar y caracterizar una colecci\u00f3n de mutantes auxotr\u00f3ficos de debaryomyces,  que permitir\u00e1n el posterior desarrollo de sistemas espec\u00edficos de transformaci\u00f3n y selecci\u00f3n para la
