En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se han identificado mutaciones som\u00e1ticas en el gen de gata-1, mayoritariamente en ni\u00f1os con s\u00edndrome de down, que han suscitado un gran inter\u00e9s debido a su relaci\u00f3n con des\u00f3rdenes mieloproliferativos y su progresi\u00f3n a leucemias. Las diferentes mutaciones en el gen de gata-1 llevan, todas ellas, a la expresi\u00f3n exclusiva de una isoforma truncada de la prote\u00edna, carente del dominio amino terminal, y que se ha denominado gata-1s. en este trabajo demostramos que la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de gata-1s en c\u00e9lulas inmaduras de m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea adulta de rat\u00f3n, tiene un efecto dominante que provoca la hiperproliferaci\u00f3n de progenitores eritro-megacarioc\u00edticos (meps), as\u00ed como una alteraci\u00f3n en el potencial intr\u00ednseco de proliferaci\u00f3n\/diferenciaci\u00f3n, impulsando preferencialmente la v\u00eda megacarioc\u00edtica en detrimento de la eritroide. Descubrimos, adem\u00e1s, un fen\u00f3meno in\u00e9dito que sugiere la relaci\u00f3n directa entre una mayor o menor tasa de proliferaci\u00f3n de los progenitores que expresan gata-1s y la
