Ademas esta bacteria es capaz de producir bajo ciertas condiciones de cultivo, junto con la estruvita cantidades menores de otros fosfatos considerados singeneticos de la estruvita, concretamente newberyita y schertelita.  se ha comprobado que las celulas de m. Xanthus aportan nucleos heterogeneos de cristalizacion . En el caso de celulas integras, procedentes de cultivos viables, estos nucleos estan localizados en deformaciones globulares detectadas en las celulas que estan iniciando la fase de lisis. Igualmente, las celulas muertas y\/o rotas aportan dichos nucleos, siempre que procedan de cultivos en el inicio de la fase de lisis. Finalmente se ha encontrado que las fracciones membranosas de m.
