Estos sistemas est\u00e1n formados por el sistema de almacenamiento, el sistema de memoria, el sistema de procesamiento (cpu) y el sistema de red. Las principales caracter\u00edsticas de esta plataforma de simulaci\u00f3n son flexibilidad, para abarcar el mayor rango de dise\u00f1os posible; escalabilidad, para comprobar los l\u00edmites al incrementar el tama\u00f1o de las arquitecturas modeladas; y el balance entre los tiempos de ejecuci\u00f3n y la precisi\u00f3n obtenida en las simulaciones.  esta plataforma de simulaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 orientada a modelar tanto sistemas actuales como nuevos dise\u00f1os de arquitecturas hpc y aplicaciones. De esta forma, dependiendo de los requisitos del usuario, el modelo puede estar enfocado a un conjunto de sistemas, o por el contrario, \u00e9ste puede estar enfocado en el sistema completo. Por ello, se pueden modelar sistemas distribuidos completos integrando los sistemas b\u00e1sicos en un \u00fanico modelo, cada uno con su nivel de detalle correspondiente, lo cual proporciona un alto nivel de flexibilidad. Adem\u00e1s, esta plataforma proporciona un buen compromiso tanto entre precisi\u00f3n y rendimiento, como en flexibilidad proporcionada para poder construir un amplio rango de arquitecturas utilizando diferentes configuraciones.  adem\u00e1s, se ha llevado a cabo un proceso de validaci\u00f3n de la plataforma de simulaci\u00f3n propuesta, comparando los resultados obtenidos en entornos reales con aquellos obtenidos en los modelos an\u00e1logos. Posteriormente, se han realizado una serie de experimentos para realizar una evaluaci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis de c\u00f3mo evolucionan, tanto la escalabilidad como los cuellos de botella, existentes en una arquitectura hpc t\u00edpica multi-core utilizando diferentes configuraciones. B\u00e1sicamente estos experimentos consisten en ejecutar 2 modelos de aplicaciones (hpc y checkpointing) en varias arquitecturas.  finalmente, se han calculado datos de rendimiento de la propia plataforma de si- mulaci\u00f3n con los experimentos realizados. El prop\u00f3sito de este proceso es calcular, tanto el tiempo como la cantidad de memoria necesaria, para ejecutar una simulaci\u00f3n concreta dependiendo tanto del tama\u00f1o del entorno simulado,
