Para la eliminaci\u00f3n de estos compuestos, se emplean los procesos de oxidaci\u00f3n avanzada, entre ellos la ozonizaci\u00f3n catal\u00edtica. El objetivo de esta tesis es la caracterizaci\u00f3n del papel del catalizador en las reacciones de ozonizaci\u00f3n para la eliminaci\u00f3n de compuestos farmac\u00e9uticos. Los compuestos estudiados fueron los f\u00e1rmacos naproxeno, carbamazepina, \u00e1cido clof\u00edbrico y \u00e1cido fenof\u00edbrico, y dos herbicidas: atrazina y linuron. Como catalizadores se emplearon \u00f3xidos met\u00e1licos (tio2 y al2o3) y \u00f3xidos met\u00e1licos soportados (mnox\/al2o3 y mnox\/sba-15).   como resultados se han obtenido que de manera general no se produce la adsorci\u00f3n de los f\u00e1rmacos en la superficie del catalizador, aunque la presencia de \u00e9ste si mejora la degradaci\u00f3n de los mismos. Las constantes cin\u00e9ticas directas e indirectas de degradaci\u00f3n son coincidentes en presencia y ausencia de los catalizadores, aunque se produce un aumento de la generaci\u00f3n de radicales hidroxilo de hasta 30 veces en presencia de mnox\/sba-15. La mineralizaci\u00f3n presenta dos periodos en funci\u00f3n de la degradabilidad de los compuestos. El catalizador mejora el primer periodo de mineralizaci\u00f3n, impidiendo la acumulaci\u00f3n de compuestos intermedios. Con respecto a la toxicidad, los mayores valores se presentan en el caso de daphnia magna, con un aumento en los primeros minutos de reacci\u00f3n asociada a la presencia de compuesto con anillos
