Se recurre a estos espacios debido a la gran complejidad que presenta la anatom\u00eda humana, y en particular la del cerebro, que dif\u00edcilmente puede ser descrita por modelos lineales. las im\u00e1genes objeto de estudio, y sobre las que se eval\u00faan e ilustran las metodolog\u00edas propuestas, son im\u00e1genes de resonancia magn\u00e9tica estructural de cerebros, por lo que el principal campo de aplicaci\u00f3n es el estudio estad\u00edstico de morfometr\u00eda aplicado a enfermedades neuropsiqui\u00e1tricas. No obstante, gran parte del trabajo aqu\u00ed expuesto es de car\u00e1cter mucho m\u00e1s general, pudiendo ser aplicable a estudios de otro tipo de im\u00e1genes. la tesis puede dividirse en dos partes, que se ocupan de variedades de finitas e infinitas dimensiones, respectivamente. En la primera parte se desarrollan metodolog\u00edas para el estudio estad\u00edstico de la forma por un lado, y de la pose (localizaci\u00f3n, orientaci\u00f3n y tama\u00f1o) por otro, de estructuras anat\u00f3micas segmentadas en las im\u00e1genes. Respecto del estudio de la forma, se revisita el espacio de kendall, que consiste en landmarks (puntos anat\u00f3micamente definidos) que est\u00e1n alineados mediante el m\u00e9todo de procrustes. El estudio de la pose relativa es especialmente relevante ya que es una aportaci\u00f3n pionera en el \u00e1mbito de im\u00e1genes m\u00e9dicas. Adem\u00e1s de los avances te\u00f3ricos, se comprueba su potencial utilidad en el estudio de la enfermedad de alzheimer. la segunda parte de la tesis est\u00e1 dedicada al estudio del grupo de difeomorfismos, que son transformaciones espaciales suaves e invertibles. Se utilizan para caracterizar la anatom\u00eda mediante la deformaci\u00f3n que pone en correspondencia anat\u00f3mica a cada imagen con un atlas de referencia. Se han hecho avances en tres niveles: a nivel te\u00f3rico, desarrollando metodolog\u00edas para el an\u00e1lisis estad\u00edstico de im\u00e1genes, como la construcci\u00f3n de atlas estad\u00edsticos o la descomposici\u00f3n en modos principales, bajo el paradigma log-eucl\u00eddeo (que utiliza la exponencial y logaritmo de grupo para definir una m\u00e9trica en la variedad), y proponiendo un algoritmo de registro difeom\u00f3rfico de im\u00e1genes que est\u00e1 basado en una descripci\u00f3n mediante campos estacionarios de velocidades; a nivel computacional, proponiendo y evaluando m\u00e9todos num\u00e9ricos para trabajar con los difeomorfismos de forma computacionalmente m\u00e1s eficiente; y a nivel pr\u00e1ctico, aplicando y evaluando las t\u00e9cnicas en estudios con im\u00e1genes de pacientes, principalmente con enfermedad de alzheimer, mediante t\u00e9cnicas de morfometr\u00eda basada en tensores de deformaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
