El ovario de drosophila constituye un excelente modelo para el estudio de los nichos de c\u00e9lulas troncales adultas por poseer  una poblaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas troncales, las c\u00e9lulas troncales de la l\u00ednea germinal (gscs, germline stem cells). \tusando como modelo experimental el nicho de las gscs del ovario de drosophila melanogaster, en esta tesis se ha realizado 1) un cribado de genes para identificar nuevos factores del nicho de c\u00e9lulas troncales adultas y 2) un an\u00e1lisis de la funci\u00f3n de en y la ruta de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de hh en el nicho  \ten primer lugar, se ha puesto a punto un sistema para el cribado de genes con una posible funci\u00f3n en el nicho de las gscs. Este sistema ha permitido, por el momento, la selecci\u00f3n de 7 l\u00edneas de inter\u00e9s.  \ten segundo lugar, se describe el papel de engrailed (en) y la ruta de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de hedgehog (hh) en el nicho de las gscs. Este trabajo demuestra que en controla la expresi\u00f3n de hh y que dicha regulaci\u00f3n es fundamental para el mantenimiento de las gscs. Asimismo, se muestra que la producci\u00f3n y secreci\u00f3n de hh ocurre en las c\u00e9lulas cap (cpcs), un grupo de c\u00e9lulas que se encuentran en \u00edntimo contacto con las gscs, y que el ligando hh se recibe en las escs, otro tipo celular que rodea a las gscs.
