Se centra en la captacion de la estructura esencial de la informacion. Para captar esta estructura hay que tener en cuenta que en la informacion de entrada puede haber distintas estructuras definidas a distintas escalas. Para resolver este problema se proporciona una representacion para curvas plantas y otra para imagenes de niveles de gris, estas representaciones captaran las escalas significativas de las estructuras contenidas en la imagen. Estas escalas significativas estaran divididas en escalas de enfoque y escalas de simplicacion. Para mostrar su aplicabilidad se proporcionan dos soluciones como son la simplificacion de contornos cartograficos y la deteccion de fronteras.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
