Se desarrollan y eval\u00faan algoritmos para resolver los problemas los problemas geom\u00e9tricos b\u00e1sicos, incidiendo especialmente en la visualizaci\u00f3n de terrenos para m\u00f3viles. Se contemplan dos \u00e1mbitos diferentes: el estudio de las prestaciones del c\u00e1lculo paralelo sobre hardware gr\u00e1fico y la navegaci\u00f3n interactiva de grandes terrenos utilizando elementos de c\u00e1lculo m\u00f3viles de prestaciones limitadas. La r\u00e1pida evoluci\u00f3n que se est\u00e1 produciendo en el hardware gr\u00e1fico est\u00e1 permitiendo en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os un salto cuantitativo y cualitativo en el rendimiento de las aplicaciones gr\u00e1ficas. La adaptaci\u00f3n de algoritmos de inform\u00e1tica gr\u00e1fica y geometr\u00eda computacional al uso del hardware gr\u00e1fico programable (gpu) es uno de los puntales hoy en d\u00eda en el campo de la inform\u00e1tica gr\u00e1fica. Ello se debe fundamentalmente a que la gpu presenta mayor capacidad para realizar c\u00e1lculos en coma flotante que la cpu. Las capacidades programables de las gpus actuales se pueden explotar para realizar computaci\u00f3n de prop\u00f3sito general (gpgpu) sobre ellas. Si bien, para que un algoritmo pueda adaptarse a la gpu debe ser paralelizable. una gpu presenta bastantes similitudes con un procesador de flujo (stream processor) y su modelo de procesamiento est\u00e1 basado en \u00e9l. El procesador gr\u00e1fico es capaz de realizar una misma operaci\u00f3n sobre el conjunto de datos de entrada o flujos de datos. Hasta ahora no era posible visualizar gr\u00e1ficos 3d realistas en un dispositivo m\u00f3vil debido a sus limitadas caracter\u00edsticas. No obstante, este campo est\u00e1 ganando inter\u00e9s d\u00eda a d\u00eda debido a la llegada paulatina de hardware gr\u00e1fico de bajo consumo a estos dispositivos. Estos avances abren la posibilidad de su uso como dispositivos de entretenimiento e informaci\u00f3n avanzada tales como sistemas de informaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
