Esta instituci\u00f3n creada en 1904 por el hispan\u00f3filo norteamericano archer m. Huntignon, alberga la mejor colecci\u00f3n bibliogr\u00e1fica y sobre arte hisp\u00e1nico en los estados unifos. se estudia la colecci\u00f3n fotogr\u00e1fica a trav\u00e9s de la figura de ruth m. Anderson, una de las principales encargadas de este archivo. Su condici\u00f3n de fot\u00f3grafa fue determinante para hacer de ella una experta en folklore espa\u00f1ol. Esta especializaci\u00f3n se inici\u00f3 en el transcurso de las expediciones que comision\u00f3 la hsa y durante las que document\u00f3 extensamente las tradiciones y costumbres de espa\u00f1a,
