En una primera aproximaci\u00f3n se estudi\u00f3 si durante el proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n neuroendocrina en cultivo exist\u00edan variaciones en la super\u00f3xido dismutasa mitocondrial (mnsod), lo cual explicar\u00eda, en parte, su resistencia a muerte celular inducida por tratamientos antitumorales. Empleando diferentes condiciones experimentales capaces de inducir diferenciaci\u00f3n neuroendocrina en c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata, los niveles de prote\u00edna mnsod aparec\u00edan incrementados. Adem\u00e1s observamos que en clones de c\u00e9lulas en cultivo, la sola expresi\u00f3n de mnsod presentaban caracter\u00edsticas fenot\u00edpicas de c\u00e9lulas neuroendocrinas y una reducci\u00f3n de expresi\u00f3n del receptor de andr\u00f3genos sin disminuir su capacidad proliferativa. Por \u00faltimo, empleando ratones transg\u00e9nicos que desarrollan c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata (tramp), se estudi\u00f3 la prote\u00edna mnsod a lo largo de la evoluci\u00f3n de la enfermedad y se evaluaron los mismos par\u00e1metros estimados sobre muestras de 150 pacientes, para confirmar la solidez de la hip\u00f3tesis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
