Practicamos vitrectom\u00eda sobre 120 ojos de cad\u00e1veres de cerdo enucleados. En sesenta ojos elegidos de forma aleatoria se realizaron esclerotom\u00edas oblicuas 23-gauge para la entrada de la sonda del vitreotomo, y esclerotom\u00edas 25-gauge para el paso de la luz endocular. En los otros sesenta ojos se crearon incisiones oblicuas 25-gauge para el vitreotomo y 23-gauge para la luz. Al t\u00e9rmino de cada cirug\u00eda, retiramos las c\u00e1nulas superiores e intercambiamos el suero intraocular por azul de metileno. A continuaci\u00f3n elevamos la presi\u00f3n intraocular, monitorizada por el sistema de vitrectom\u00eda, hasta que alguna de las esclerotom\u00edas superiores mostr\u00f3 filtrado de l\u00edquido intraocular. resultados: la presi\u00f3n a la que filtraron las esclerotom\u00edas 23-gauge fue significativamente menor que aquella a la que lo hicieron las incisiones 25-gauge. Por otro lado, no se observaron diferencias significativas entre la presi\u00f3n a la que filtraron las esclerotom\u00edas destinadas al paso del vitreotomo y a la sonda de iluminaci\u00f3n.  conclusiones: las incisiones oblicuas 23-gauge sin sutura presentan menor resistencia mec\u00e1nica ante aumentos de la presi\u00f3n intraocular respecto de las esclerotom\u00edas 25-gauge. Por ello, la necesidad de emplear sutura al t\u00e9rmino de la cirug\u00eda ser\u00e1 mayor en las esclerotom\u00edas 23-gauge que en las de 25-gauge.
