Se produce principalmente en el ri\u00f1\u00f3n, en respuesta a la reducci\u00f3n de oxigeno en el tejido, y estimula la eritropoyesis a la m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea. La epo recombinante (rhepo) se administra como f\u00e1rmaco por el tratamiento de diferentes enfermedades. Tambi\u00e9n se ha observado su utilizaci\u00f3n en deportistas con el objetivo de aumentar los niveles de oxigeno en los tejidos y as\u00ed incrementar su rendimiento.  Los m\u00e9todos que se utilizan para diferenciar la epo urinaria end\u00f3gena de la ex\u00f3gena se basan en diferencias de sus perfiles isoelectrofor\u00e9ticos (ief) o en sus pesos moleculares (sds-page). El problema de estos m\u00e9todos es que son largos, costosos y solo pueden utilizar la orina como matriz biol\u00f3gica. En este estudio, se ha realizado el desarrollo de los siguientes m\u00e9todos que facilitan la detecci\u00f3n de epos recombinantes y an\u00e1logos en el control antidopaje: un m\u00e9todo de immunopurificaci\u00f3n de epo en plasma; un m\u00e9todo de cribado r\u00e1pido basado en t\u00e9cnicas de immunoafinidad para detectar el abuso de eritropoyetinas recombinantes en orina; y un m\u00e9todo de cromatograf\u00eda l\u00edquida acoplada a espectrometr\u00eda de masa que permite detectar una clara diferencia estructural entre la mayor\u00eda de las epos ex\u00f3genas y la
