Ordo\u00f1ez trata de adentrarse en uno de los problemas del mundo occidental, que el considera crucial: el nihilismo. Y se ocupa de el desde la optica propiciada por el planteamiento heideggeriano, haciendo hincapie en los tres aspectos siguientes: 1.- Afirmacion del nihilismo como planteamiento caracteristico de occidente desde los griegos; 2.- Heidegger representa el esfuerzo hermeneutico por entender el problema, pero es incapaz de superar las contradicciones que el nihilismo plantea, y 3.- La modernidad constituye la expresion definitiva del nihilismo. Finalmente, se considera el pensamiento de e.  severino el unico esfuerzo que intenta con exito poner cerco al nihilismo y devolvernos a su estructura originaria.  el metodo seguido por el trabajo consiste en la lectura e interpretacion de los textos heideggerianos, cotejandolos con otros y clasificandolos por orden evolutivo.  y, de ese modo, se estructura el contenido y la division en partes del trabajo: el capitulo i recoge la critica de heidegger a la modernidad y, en concreto, al principio de razon. El capitulo ii refiere la experiencia nihilista de holderlin. El capitulo iii examina el significado esencial del nihilismo. El capitulo iv aborda el giro heideggeriano, concluyendo que se trata alli de una terapia inutil para superar el instinto metafisico.
