En la actualidad  se han descrito m\u00e1s de 55 especies, de las cuales 10 biotipos est\u00e1n en espa\u00f1a, en concreto 3 casos para imidazolinonas  y el resto para sulfonilureas (osuna et al.,2001). \tlos primeros casos de resistencia a inhibidores de la accasa (acetil coenzima a carboxilasa)  se dieron a finales de la d\u00e9cada de los a\u00f1os 80, produci\u00e9ndose en cultivos de gran importancia econ\u00f3mica en todo el mundo (devine y shimabukuro, 1994). En la actualidad ha sido identificada en al menos 35 especies, representando un 11% del total de biotipos resistentes a herbicidas encontrados en el mundo (heap, 2005).  durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, y debido a la presi\u00f3n de selecci\u00f3n impuesta por el uso continuado de herbicidas han empezado a aparecer problemas de tolerancia y resistencia a varias familias de herbicidas inhibidores de la accasa e inhibidores de la als sobre poblaciones de echinochloa crus galli y cyperus difformis, que antes eran controladas a dosis de campo. En esta tesis se estudian los mecanismos de resistencia asociados a herbicidas inhibidores de la accasa y de la als en cyperus dyfformis y echinochloa cruss galli. Estas malas hierbas presentan un grave problema en el cultivo de arroz, para ello se realizan aplicaciones y controles con los herbicidas m\u00e1s utilizados en dicho cultivo.  los ensayos realizados en este trabajo, se inician con pruebas de dosis-respuesta para confirmar la resistencia observada en campo. Posteriormente se hacen ensayos bioqu\u00edmicos, con el fin de encontrar los mecanismos de resistencia.
