La mayor\u00eda de las alternativas en b\u00fasqueda de una soluci\u00f3n a este moderno problema presentan un coste global tan elevado que resulta pr\u00e1cticamente inviable. La soluci\u00f3n m\u00e1s apropiada hace uso de un cable incoherente de fibras \u00f3pticas (cifo), pero se requiere una etapa previa de calibraci\u00f3n para permitir la transmisi\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes. Esta t\u00e9cnica ha sido estudiada en el pasado y ha dado lugar a algunas patentes nacionales e internacionales. en este trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n y desarrollo, se han conseguido unas mejoras fundamentales en t\u00e9rminos de calidad de las im\u00e1genes transmitidas, as\u00ed como de optimizaci\u00f3n de los tiempos de procesamiento. Los resultados conseguidos en esta tesis no se limitan solamente a esta contribuci\u00f3n (correcci\u00f3n de la iluminaci\u00f3n, detecci\u00f3n de los centros de las fibras \u00f3pticas, m\u00e9todo en resoluci\u00f3n completa), si no que se ha desarrollado tambi\u00e9n un m\u00e9todo que permite la portabilidad de la calibraci\u00f3n (problem\u00e1tica no considerada en la literatura actual), que permite pensar en la introducci\u00f3n comercial de los cifos para la transmisi\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes en la industria. Con el fin de proponer algunas aplicaciones industriales y orientar futuras l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como de completar la demostraci\u00f3n de la viabilidad de tales proyectos, se presentan finalmente unas aplicaciones para el guiado de robots, en entornos peligrosos, asistidos por sistemas de transmisi\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes, hasta la localizaci\u00f3n 3d por un par
