Este g\u00e9nero, contin\u00faa siendo una fuente de enzimas term\u00f3filas de gran inter\u00e9s biotecnol\u00f3gico y, m\u00e1s recientemente, gracias al desarrollo de nuevos pl\u00e1smidos y marcadores termoestables de selecci\u00f3n por antibi\u00f3ticos, una herramienta para la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de enzimas term\u00f3filas y para la selecci\u00f3n, por evoluci\u00f3n dirigida, de mutantes termoestables de prote\u00ednas mes\u00f3filas. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es la b\u00fasqueda de enzimas biotecnol\u00f3gicamente relevantes en el genoma de  thermus thermophilus hb27. Escogimos 9 genes codificantes de hipot\u00e9ticas glicosidasas y 5 de lipasas\/esterasas. Clonamos estos genes en e. Coli y tratamos de sobreexpresar y purificar las correspondientes prote\u00ednas. Por otro lado, probamos la viabilidad de sistemas de expresi\u00f3n alternativos como streptomyces lividans y thermus thermophilus.%&#038;\/Hemos identificado el gen ttp0042 como el responsable del incremento en las actividades  -galactosidasa y  -fucosidasa observadas cultivos de thermus thermophilus hb27 crecidos en medios con limitaci\u00f3n de nutrientes suplementados con celobiosa. Este gen pertenece a un oper\u00f3n que codifica hom\u00f3logos de prote\u00ednas implicadas en la detecci\u00f3n y el transporte de glic\u00f3sidos. Se ha estudiado la regulaci\u00f3n de este oper\u00f3n, identificando el promotor principal del mismo y confirmando su uni\u00f3n a la prote\u00edna ttp0038, un hom\u00f3logo de laci, probablemente implicado en esta regulaci\u00f3n.%&#038;\/En el \u00faltimo cap\u00edtulo de esta tesis analizamos un gen codificante de una posible penicil\u00edn acilasa de thermus thermophilus hb27, su
