Otros autores han calificado la obra de centlivre como una colecci\u00f3n de comedias sentimentales altamente convencionales. Atrapado entre la edad de oro de shakespeare y el siglo xviii, el teatro de esta \u00e9poca representa el caos generalizado que supuso el paso de una sociedad medieval a una moderna. Tomando como base te\u00f3rica las ideas de foucault sobre el paso de un dispositivo de alianza (sociedad medieval) a un dispositivo de sexualidad (sociedad moderna), busco reclamar estos tres autores y sus obras como puntos de resistencia que se erigen contra y entre los dos sistemas patriarcales enfrentados entre s\u00ed en las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas del siglo xvii y los primeros a\u00f1os del siglo xviii.
