De este modo, se han preparado compuestos que combinan las caracter\u00edsticas antioxidantes del grupo catecol y del azufre en forma de grupo tiol o disulfuro, que han mostrado una actividad antioxidante in vitro y ex vivo superior a la del ht, y una marcada actividad proapopt\u00f3tica frente a c\u00e9lulas de leucemia humana hl60 y hl60r. Tambi\u00e9n se ha llevado a cabo la transformaci\u00f3n del ht en el neurotransmisor dopamina y otros derivados, pudiendo presentar estos nuevos compuestos caracter\u00edsticas especiales como neurotransmisores.  se ha desarrollado una ruta de s\u00edntesis de 3,4-dihidroxifenilglicol, cuyo grupo hidroxilo en la posici\u00f3n benc\u00edlica le confiere unas propiedades antioxidantes a\u00fan mejores que las del propio ht, y de tio y aza derivados del ht monohidroxilados en la posici\u00f3n benc\u00edlica.  se ha estudiado la complejaci\u00f3n del hidroxitirosol con \u00edY-ciclodextrina, y se ha comprobado c\u00f3mo la actividad antioxidante del ht y su estabilidad frente a luz ultravioleta mejoran con la formaci\u00f3n del complejo.  adem\u00e1s, se ha sintetizado una serie de n-alcoxipiperidinas polifuncionalizadas a partir de nitroestirenos, alcoxiaminas, y compuestos carbon\u00edlicos \u00c2\u00bf,\u00edY-insaturados, de forma quimio y diastereoselectiva y se ha desarrollado una aproximaci\u00f3n a la s\u00edntesis de 1,3-azasilaheterociclos 2-sustituidos \u00f3pticamente activos como an\u00e1logos de alcaloides
