Aunque las circunstancias en que transcurri\u00f3 su vida parec\u00edan reducir al compositor salmantino a un \u00e1mbito casi exclusivamente lo cal, se dio a conocer en Madrid en 1817, cuando dirigi\u00f3 su te deum y su gran misa en sol mayor en la capilla real ante fernando vii. A partir de entonces, la obra de doyag\u00ed\u00bce transcendi\u00f3 los l\u00edmites de salamanca y comenz\u00f3 a interpretarse en los princi pales templos espa\u00f1oles. Poco despu\u00e9s de su muerte, la fama del salmantino comenz\u00f3 a crecer y su figura alcanz\u00f3 cotas de ficci\u00f3n, llegando incluso a convertirse en protagonista de varios relatos rom\u00e1nticos. El primer cap\u00edtulo de esta tesis comienza a nalizando este fen\u00f3meno y las posibles causas pol\u00edticas, sociales y musicales que lo originaron, comparando la leyenda con la realidad de los datos contrastados. Se construye la biograf\u00eda de doyag\u00ed\u00bce y se estudia la vigencia de su m\u00fasica. con la situa ci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica y social en la salamanca de doyag\u00ed\u00bce da comienzo el segundo cap\u00edtulo, donde se realiza un estudio de la m\u00fasica religiosa espa\u00f1ola de la \u00e9poca de este compositor, estableciendo una periodizaci\u00f3n y analizando la influencia que sobre ella t uvieron acontecimientos pol\u00edticos y sociales tan decisivos como la guerra de la independencia y las desamortizaciones del siglo xix. Se dedica un amplio apartado a la vida musical de la catedral de salamanca y de otras instituciones vinculadas a la t rayectoria de doyag\u00ed\u00bce. el tercer cap\u00edtulo aborda \u00c2\u00bfel factor humano\u00c2\u00bf, es decir, se ocupa de los m\u00fasicos que se relacionaron directa o indirectamente con doyag\u00ed\u00bce y de los compositores m\u00e1s significativos de m\u00fasica religiosa de su tiempo, que aparecen en  obras tan emblem\u00e1ticas como la lira sacro hispana de eslava o la biographie universelle des musiciens et biographie g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la musique de f\u00e9tis. As\u00ed mismo, se dedica un espacio a las oposiciones en las que doyag\u00ed\u00bce gan\u00f3 su magisterio (1789), que inspiraron a eximeno una parte de su novela sat\u00edrica don lazarillo vizcardi. Por \u00faltimo, se analiza el papel del maestro salmantino como juez de oposiciones, destacando qu\u00e9 requisitos consideraba necesarios para ser un buen maestro de capilla. el
