El modelo de intelectual que impuso la segunda rep\u00fablica y la guerra civil espa\u00f1ola marcar\u00eda indeleblemente la figura de aub, quien, una vez ya en el exilio, y habiendo terciado con los medios intelectuales, editoriales y literarios de la espa\u00f1a que abandonaba y del m\u00e9xico que lo recib\u00eda, ser\u00eda capaz de establecer, dentro del g\u00e9nero de la cr\u00edtica literaria, un posicionamiento frente a la tradici\u00f3n y a las m\u00e1s recientes aportaciones dentro del campo literario internacional. El establecimiento de redes y el posicionamiento de su cr\u00edtica literaria en determinados contextos se convirti\u00f3 en la mejor carta de presentaci\u00f3n de aub; adem\u00e1s de crear una serie de redes intelectuales, posibilit\u00f3 la entrada en el campo cultural espa\u00f1ol para un autor que, desde el fin de la guerra civil espa\u00f1ola, se hab\u00eda mantenido completamente desvinculado de la producci\u00f3n editorial en la pen\u00ednsula.  la tesis doctoral recorre los ensayos de aub en relaci\u00f3n con las l\u00edneas intelectuales, las bases est\u00e9ticas y te\u00f3ricas que los recorren desde los a\u00f1os veinte hasta los setenta en \u00edntima relaci\u00f3n con sus contextos de producci\u00f3n. Asimismo ofrece en un ap\u00e9ndice documental algunos ensayos in\u00e9ditos hasta la fecha elaborados en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os de su existencia y relacionados con su \u00faltimo proyecto luis
