Concretamente hemos obtenido c\u00e9lulas madre a partir de zona subventricular de los ventr\u00edculos laterales, de hipocampo y de corteza cerebral. la neurog\u00e9nesis y la existencia de c\u00e9lulas madre en el cerebro adulto humano se ha relacionado recientemente con la formaci\u00f3n de tumores cerebrales. As\u00ed, se han logrado aislar cancer stem cells, en forma de neuroesferas, a partir de determinados tumores cerebrales. Nosotros tambi\u00e9n hemos aislado y caracterizado in vitro, por el mismo procedimeinto, c\u00e9lulas madre a partir de tejido tumoral como los glioblastomas m\u00faltiples (los tumores m\u00e1s agresivos del sistema nervioso central). hemos comparado in vitro, las c\u00e9lulas madre de tejido sano y tejido tumoral para as\u00ed intentar comprender la posible relaci\u00f3n entre la neurog\u00e9nesis y la tumurog\u00e9nesis en el cerebro humano adulto. adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n hemos intentado aislar in vitro c\u00e9lulas madre de determinadas muestras de tumores ben\u00edgnos men\u00edngeos. Hemos logrado establecer y caracterizar cultivos de larga duraci\u00f3n de estos meningiomas, que han adquirido caracter\u00edsticas de inmortalizaci\u00f3n y que hemos utilizado en modelos de
