El nucleo de la rna polimerasa de s.  griseus se purifico mediante una cromatografia adicional en dna-agarosa. Las holoenzimas purificadas en el paso de heparina-agarosa fueron activas en la transcripcion de los promotores de los genes veg y ctc de b. Subtilis y amy de s. Griseus.  se han caracterizado tres genes homologos a rpod de e.  coli en s. Griseus. Los genes hrdb y hrdd de s. Griseus son homologos a los genes hrdb y hrdd de s. Coelicolor y s. Aureofaciens. El gen hrdt no pertenece a ninguno de los grupos de genes hrd conocidos. Los tres genes hrd de s. Griseus pertenecen a la familia sigma-70 de factores sigma, segun se deduce del analisis de la secuencia de dichos genes.  el analisis transcripcional muestra que los genes hrd son transcritos monocistronicos. El gen hrdb se expresa activamente en medio sin limitacion de nutrientes con heterogeneidad en su transcripcion, observandose tres mensajeros de 1.9, 1.2 y 0.7 kb. El transcrito del gen hrdd tiene 1.1 kb y es abundante en medio minimo y la transcripcion del gen hrdt es baja en todas las condiciones probadas.  la migracion de los polipeptidos codificados en los
