El trabajo de esta tesis se ha dividido en tres grandes bloques: 1. Por un lado se ha estudiado la obtenci\u00f3n de epoxi\u00e9steres con un estereocentro en la posici\u00f3n gamma mediante la epoxidaci\u00f3n nucle\u00f3fila de \u00e9steres alpha,beta insaturados y se han estudiado las diversas variables y condiciones que influyen en su estereoselectivdad y rendimiento. Durante la realizaci\u00f3n de esta metodolog\u00eda pudo llevarse a cabo la s\u00edntesis de un producto natural perteneciente a la familia \u00ablauraceae\u00bb 2. Adem\u00e1s se ha aplicado esta metodolog\u00eda en la s\u00edntesis de dipeptidil epoxi\u00e9steres. Estos compuestos han resultado ser potentes inhibidores de cisteina proteasas pertenecientes al grupo de la papaina como son la cruzaina y la rhodesaina. La inhibici\u00f3n de estos enzimas es interesante para el desarrollo de f\u00e1rmacos para combatir enfermedades como la malaria, la enfermedad de chagas o la enfermedad del sue\u00f1o. 3. En el \u00faltimo apartado se estudia la reactividad de un grupo espec\u00edfico de epoxi\u00e9steres. Se estudia la influencia de la distancia del grupo \u00e9ster sobre el ep\u00f3xido y como estos pueden dar lugar a diferentes compuestos de gran inter\u00e9s sint\u00e9tico como son beta-alcoxi
