A esta situaci\u00f3n, hay que a\u00f1adir la creciente competitividad que est\u00e1 provocando la ca\u00edda de los m\u00e1rgenes y la explotaci\u00f3n de los distintos segmentos de mercado. La b\u00fasqueda de una estrategia de localizaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptima tiene un valor muy elevado puesto que puede convertirse en el elemento que les permita diferenciarse de la competencia.  por este motivo, el objetivo global de la presente tesis consiste en el desarrollo de un modelo de predicci\u00f3n de ventas que contribuya a la estrategia de localizaci\u00f3n de los supermercados.  para ello, se ha elegido como marco de referencia la teor\u00eda de la interacci\u00f3n espacial y se ha desarrollado un modelo multiplicativo de interacci\u00f3n competitiva (modelo mci).  los principales resultados obtenidos pueden clasificarse en dos grandes grupos: conceptuales y metodol\u00f3gicos. A nivel conceptual, se demuestra la influencia de las caracter\u00edsticas sociodemogr\u00e1ficas, desde el punto de vista del geomarketing, en la estrategia de localizaci\u00f3n de las empresas, y c\u00f3mo este tipo de modelos pueden ser mejorados gracias a la incorporaci\u00f3n del juicio de expertos. En el aspecto metodol\u00f3gico, se integran los sistemas de informaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica en la elaboraci\u00f3n del modelo, se comparan distintas t\u00e9cnicas de calibraci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como, la consideraci\u00f3n de la organizaci\u00f3n espacial de las distintas opciones (modelo subjetivo espacialmente no estacionario) frente a no considerarla (modelo subjetivo
