Adicionalmente, analizar si la melatonina tiene capacidad antiapopt\u00f3tica sobre los espermatozoides bajo condiciones de estr\u00e9s oxidativo y de sobrecargas de ca2+ intracelular. las conclusiones obtenidas fueron:  1.\tLa melatonina, gracias a su capacidad de secuestrar radicales libres, es capaz de revertir la apoptosis en espermatozoides humanos inducida por sobrecarga de ca2+ intracelular y estr\u00e9s oxidativo. El tratamiento con melatonina redujo el incremento en la actividad caspasa-3 y -9, la externalizaci\u00f3n de ps y la producci\u00f3n intracelular de ros inducidas por progesterona y h2o2. 2.\tLos niveles urinarios de 6-sulfatoximelatonina se correlacionan positivamente con la concentraci\u00f3n esperm\u00e1tica, la morfolog\u00eda y la motilidad de espermatozoides humanos. Adicionalmente, la exposici\u00f3n de los espermatozoides a la melatonina produce una mejora en la motilidad progresiva de estas c\u00e9lulas, mejorando por tanto la calidad del semen. 3.\tElevados niveles de melatonina, determinada como concentraci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido 5-hidroxiindolac\u00e9tico urinario, parece jugar un papel importante en la infertilidad masculina. De hecho, altos niveles de 5-hiia urinario correlacionan negativamente con la calidad esperm\u00e1tica. 4.\tLos efectos antiapopt\u00f3ticos de la melatonina sobre el aumento de la actividad caspasa-3 y -9 inducida por el h2o2 son dosis dependientes y dependientes de la activaci\u00f3n de los receptores de membrana mt1. Alternativamente, hemos demostrado que la v\u00eda de las quinasas erk que promueven la supervivencia celular, est\u00e1 relacionada con las acciones protectoras de la melatonina sobre los
